While DSLR is like a camera master of all cameras, it is very heavy and difficult to carry around. No doubt it can take beautiful pictures, but the thought of its weight is giving second thoughts to carry that around all the time.

As a blogger going to many events big and small, investing in a small yet powerful camera is the best way to go. It not just would help ease the load I have to carry out all the time, carrying around a small camera all the time has its benefits as the perfect moment is never here to stay. Once it’s gone, you can never get the same moment back again.
I have a friend who used to tell me that ‘the best camera is always the one you have on hand’ at that moment, so it can be a phone camera too.
But if I can choose between my phone camera and Nikon J2 camera, I’ll choose Nikon any day!

So what’s with this petite camera?
First of all, it’s lightweight! (Duh, of course!)
Weighing about 363g, it’s almost similar to a weight of a tall size starbucks coffee!
And it’s expandable! So this petite camera is also a mini DSLR!

Secondly and also, I feel this is one of the most important function:
the Smart Photo Selector.
This function actually helps you to select the best photo when you press half shutter.

You know how when you usually want to focus correctly to get the photos, you will press the shutter halfway to get that familiar beep and a green box in your camera screen?
Well, while you are doing that, this clever camera starts to take photos!!!
Thus, your camera is catching the moments even before you even press the shutter down!

This is very convenient when photographing kids and pets, because they are too quick for the shutter.
It also help reduces the number of extra shots I need to take to compensate in case someone blinks their eye, or a slight movement which will blur them out in the photo.
And I think this is a fantastic option when you take photos of pets, because they are seriously QUICK!!
One swerve of their head and your focus is gone.

With this function, it’s a life-saver!!

Another function I love is their capability of recording full HD movies.
I like how that Nikon J2 is capable of recording up to 20mins at 1080HD or 29mins at 720p.

As a frequent traveller, I think this is heaven.
Being able to capture clips at Full HD would mean I could even record a travelogue (with editing, of course) on this little camera. Talking about portability and convenience!

Of course there are more than just the two functions I highlighted.
I pick those two to highlight because those are the most important features to me when I look for a camera myself.

I can imagine rocking the evening night out with my favourite comfy little black dress and a black sexy J2 in my clutch for those glamourous shots!
Black is my favourite colour when it comes to gadgets!
Black is also my favourite colour when it comes to dressing.
It gives me confidence and I feel powerful.

I too definitely can dream of holding this camera and using it for pictures and videos on my upcoming trip to Hawaii and be able to dress in style and not lugging the huge DSLR in my backpack!

Red’s for the sexy and sophisticated
